What are the ABCs of behavior?
The ABCs of behavior are based on scientific research, but can be broken down into simple building blocks. The A is the Antecedent, or what happened before the behavior. The B is the Behavior, including a clear description of what the behavior looks like. The C is the Consequence, or what happened after the behavior. We can learn a lot about behavior by looking at it closely, understanding that behavior is communication, and analyzing the behavior in relation to what happened before (that might trigger the behavior) and what happens after (that might reinforce it and make it more likely to happen again in the same situation.)
What is POP©?
Parenting On Purpose (POP©) is Dr. Marsh’s method for helping parents prioritize parenting goals and values, focus and work on what is most important for their families, and forgive themselves when they prove to be human by making mistakes at times. We all have days when we fall short, lower our expectations, and are not as consistent as we want to be; however, when you are Parenting On Purpose, you have the support you need to stay on point and be the best parent you can be for your children. They deserve the best possible You (and so do you!)
What is PTTP©?
Proactive Tag-Team Parenting (PTTP©) is Dr. Marsh’s technique for two parents (or adults working together to raise children) to pre-plan how and when to support one another in the most important job they share: parenting. No one is super-human, and we all need a break now and again. When we recognize that the need will arise, and we plan in advance to address it rather than waiting until one parent is overwhelmed and at their wit’s end, then parenting, even in stressful times, can go a lot more smoothly.
What is GSGS©?
Goal Setting for Getting Somewhere (GSGS©) Is Dr. Marsh’s step-by-step plan for helping adults on the spectrum to identify their values, focus on long term hopes and dreams, brainstorm paths to get there, and break down a task analysis for taking one step at a time along that path. Having a handle on your goals helps you plan daily routines and schedules that support your future, so you can get somewhere instead of spinning your wheels. You’ll have a virtual life coach to text or email you regularly, reminding you of the goals that are most important to you, and keeping your focus on where you’re going. Your coach will also be your cheerleader, celebrating your successes every step of the way.
What is BAH/MAH©?
Brake-a-Habit/Make-a-Habit (BAH/MAH©) is Dr. Marsh’s evidence-based plan for putting the brakes on unwanted habits that get in the way of living the life you want, and also establishing new habits that support your best and truest self. Dr. Marsh brings knowledge from research that is rooted in the science of behavior analysis, and makes it easily accessible. Your life coach/cheerleader is as close as your cellphone, with daily texts to support you all along the way and help steer you in the right direction if you start to go off-track. This is for anyone who has ever tried and failed to make or break a habit. It’s a technology that really works!
